Who is this event for? Every single person being hurt by the current political disaster. We are providing ways to channel pent up, unproductive rage into outlets for meaningful action! Join us for the following:
1. Musical guests and a curated playlist
2. A secure, contained space to smash sh#t! (watermelon smash, discarded household electronics etc)
3. Multiple MN Organizations will be available to meet with and learn more about how to maximize your personal impact and mobilize our community to take action
4. A satirical play with massive, handmade paper mache puppets
5. Artistic activities & other creative outlets like subversive coloring book pages, chalk art, rain paint, and more!
6. And last but not least some tasty food trucks!PLEASE NOTE: all food acquired for the purposes of SMASHING have been sourced locally and are deemed food waste and/or unfit for human consumption. All electronic waste will be disposed of with care to minimize environmental impact. We are confident we will have the necessary physical space and support in terms of security personnel to facilitate this event safely for everyone. Our community is tired. It’s time we do something for ourselves so we can replenish and KEEP. SHOWING UP.We’ll see you in St. Paul on 8/2 :the_horns:

  1. Thank you for all your work organizing these events. I want to add that I find it most cathartic to gather with a huge group of people, many of whom have channeled creativity into protest signs expressing our thoughts and highlighting issues important to us, knowing that the size of the crowd will be newsworthy and will be noticed by those in power. Since 50501 events don’t happen very often, I hope there will be an opportunity on August 2 for people to protest (and march?), in addition to the other activities. Thanks again, sincerely.

    1. Sorry for the late reply. Wanted to reach out and see if you attended Rage against the Regime?
The event was primarily for the volunteers who have been working on these events since February and to show our appreciation by giving them an outlet to let off some steam.
I know that some folks brought signs and lined the street to get their protest fix. Hopefully you were able to do that if you attended.
We have multiple events per week with one or two big events each month. This is a huge effort and mostly funded by the event organizers, basically regular people who don’t have a lot of experience doing this. We could really use some help! Is there anything you can do to help our events have the impact we are all hoping for?
