Protesters' Rights

The First Amendment protects your right to assemble and express your views through protest. However, police and other government officials are allowed to place certain narrow restrictions on the exercise of speech rights. Make sure you’re prepared by brushing up on your rights before heading out into the streets.

Connecting volunteer attorneys with clients in need since 1966. Volunteer Lawyers Network (VLN) helps Minnesotans experiencing poverty with civil legal issues by connecting clients with volunteer attorneys. We help clients with a wide range of civil legal issues, including bankruptcy, criminal record expungement, eviction defense, eviction expungement, family law, immigration, and much more. Every year, we provide thousands of free legal services through the commitment of hundreds of volunteer lawyers, ensuring better access to justice for the people of Minnesota.

Legal Rights Center

Our mission is to work with our communities to seek justice and promote racial equity for those to whom it has been historically denied. We do this through criminal defense, restorative practices, legal education, and advocacy.
